Job Title: Senior Science Technician

Actual Annual Salary: £24,711 - £26,640 (Based on hours and working weeks)

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £28,859 - £31,111 (CLF Grade C)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday / Term Time only including insets

Provisional Start Date: 16 February 2026

We’re looking for a proactive Senior Science Technician to play a key role in delivering outstanding practical learning experiences. You’ll mentor technicians, prepare exciting experiments, and ensure a safe, well‑equipped environment for students and staff. With your expertise in health and safety, resource management, and hands‑on support, you’ll help bring science to life in the classroom. If you’re organised, detail‑driven, and ready to make a real impact, this is your chance to shine!

About you
  • Educated to a minimum of A Level standard in science and/or equivalent experience in science such as laboratory experience.
  • Hold a relevant vocational qualification e.g., COSHH and/or have knowledge of safe working practices in relation to the handling and usage of hazardous equipment and tools which may include knowledge of COSHH regulations and/or CLEAPPS guidance.
  • An understanding of safe working practices within an academy and practical environment.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Experience of providing technician support within an education‑based environment.
  • Experience of preparing risk assessments.
