Job summary

The post holder will work with the Head of Service to deliver the strategic vision for childrens services in the Borough, promoting interagency working between Health and Local Authority services to achieve the best outcomes for children in Sutton.

They will act as the principal contact for schools, develop cooperative health partnerships, deliver the Healthy Child Programme and empower schools and families to prioritise health in daily life.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current UK professional registration.
• Specialist Public Health Practitioner qualifications required for School Nursing or Health Visiting with willingness to undertake School Nursing practice.
• Experience delivering health promotion activities and working with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Be the principal point of contact for allocated schools.
• Develop and deliver cooperative working arrangements with schools to support health outcomes.
• Deliver the Healthy Child Programme in state maintained and academy schools.
• Empower pupils, families and staff to take responsibility for health.
• Identify vulnerable children and ensure timely support and interventions.
