Job summary

Hays Education are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Ormskirk to recruit an experienced School Business Manager for maternity cover commencing January 2027. They will consider both part-time and full-time options with up to £25 per hour depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated leadership team and play a key role in strategic and operational management of the school.

Qualifications

• Experience in school financial management and budgetary control
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Knowledge of school compliance, HR and operational procedures
• Experience in a school setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee the school's budget, financial planning and reporting
• Provide strategic financial advice to leadership and Governors
• Oversee HR administration, recruitment and personnel processes
• Manage contracts, procurement and supplier relationships
• Monitor compliance with statutory and school policies
• Support health and safety, premises management and risk assessments
• Lead and develop administrative staff
• Ensure effective management of school systems and procedures
