Job summary

Cognus Limited is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to oversee and deliver OT provision for pupils in mainstream and specialist settings across local schools. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess needs and plan interventions.

The role involves liaising with headteachers, SENDCos, staff and parents to promote outcomes, maintaining high-quality records, and contributing to Safeguarding and service development.

Responsibilities

• Visiting and assessing children and young people with OT Needs.
• Delivery of specialist programmes on an individual and/or small group basis.
• Advice to parents and carers as well as teaching staff at a targeted or universal level.
• Maintaining children/young people's records to a high standard.
• Liaison with the multidisciplinary team, external agencies, and safeguarding partners.
• Promotion of effective inclusion of children and young people into all aspects of the school curriculum.
• Carrying out risk assessments in complex moving and handling situations where appropriate.
