Job summary

Penguin Random House is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead for the London office to oversee SAP technical environment, including ECC, HANA, and Cloud services. You will lead the team, coordinate offshore resources, and ensure architecture aligns with Technology Strategy.

The role requires strong Linux, SQL skills, and experience with HANA Studio, HANA Cockpit, and disaster recovery. You will mentor the Basis team and support upgrades with a flexible, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Significant SAP Basis support and project delivery experience including installs and upgrades.
• Experience managing a technical team and offshore resources.
• Experience with SAP BTP and Cloud ALM.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP Basis workstreams and offshore team to align with strategy and standards.
• Install, configure and upgrade SAP HANA environments and patches (HDBLCM).
• Maintain SAP landscape (ECC, BTP, GRC, IAS, Cloud ALM, Signavio) for performance and availability.
• Monitor SAP HANA and SAP environments using SAP HANA Studio and HANA Cockpit.
• Manage backups, recovery and DR including Backint and point-in-time recovery.
• Document SAP instances and provide status updates to management.
• Mentor the Basis team and provide on-call upgrade support.
