Overview

An established clinical diagnostics manufacturer is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to drive business growth across NHS pathology networks in London and the South East. This is a strategic commercial role focused on the full laboratory diagnostics portfolio, spanning microbiology, molecular, and clinical chemistry solutions.

The Role

You’ll lead key account development within NHS laboratories, working closely with procurement and pathology network stakeholders to understand needs and deliver tailored diagnostic solutions. This role combines strategic business development with high-level relationship management, offering the chance to make a real impact across the region’s laboratory testing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a commercial strategy to grow market share across microbiology, molecular, and biochemistry product lines.
  • Build and manage relationships with clinical, technical, and procurement stakeholders within NHS Trusts and pathology networks.
  • Identify opportunities within managed service contracts and framework agreements.
  • Work with internal technical and marketing teams to align solutions to customer needs.
  • Monitor regional market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline tracking, and forecasting.
About You
  • Strong commercial or technical background in clinical diagnostics — ideally spanning multiple disciplines (microbiology, molecular, or biochemistry).
  • Proven success managing NHS laboratory accounts and navigating procurement processes.
  • Skilled in consultative, value-based selling with a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Self‑motivated and able to manage a dynamic regional territory.
