Senior Sales Engineer Ref: ABJ7695

£55-65k + Commission + Car / Car Allowance UK Wide - Remote

Salary dependent on experience. Home-based (REMOTE). Travel required.

An experienced Sales Engineer is urgently required to report to the Director of Sales & Marketing and support the sales, service, and marketing functions by managing the sales pipeline across Western Europe. Key responsibilities include managing new systems business, providing timely quotations to customers, building revenue, and supporting sales and marketing activities such as trade shows and exhibitions.

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships across the UK and Europe, providing ongoing support to customers throughout the region. Although home‑based in the UK, you will manage all aspects of new system sales and provide sales support to prospects and customers across Europe—and, where appropriate, neighbouring countries, subject to visa access requirements. Full support and product training will be provided by the UK team at the manufacturing facility in England. This role will focus on strengthening existing customer relationships and securing new business opportunities across both systems and service.

Location: Home-based, with weekly attendance at the office (flexibility on this) to ensure strong collaboration between the sales, engineering, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical sales support to customers and prospects throughout Europe.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with the existing customer base.
  • Proactively engage with prospects and customers to drive sales growth.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of new system opportunities across Europe.
  • Discuss technical requirements with customers; prepare and present proposals from the UK sales team.
  • Support the UK project management team with customer project preparation and technical queries during system installations.
  • Act as the technical single point of contact / project lead for clients on‑site.
  • Deliver high‑quality proposals on time and to specification.
  • Gather necessary site and technical data to ensure smooth installations and system operation.
  • Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions.
  • Participate in design reviews and project close‑out reviews.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • HND or Degree qualified – background in engineering.
  • Strong experience with hydraulic equipment, (large moving parts / machines) or similar ideally within testing applications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities across sales and marketing activities.
  • Experienced in a B2B customer‑facing technical sales experience related to engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Familiarity with commercial/business contracts.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
  • Ability to travel by air or car (up to approx. 10%).
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Experience attending exhibitions/trade shows.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings. Additional European language skills are advantageous.

Home‑based remote role, Full UK driving licence required. Package – £55‑65k Base: Salary dependent on experience. Uncapped commission (current OTE £5‑10k). 25 days holiday. Car or car allowance. Pension and benefits package.
