Job summary

North in Leeds seeks a Senior Safety & Security Engineer to lead installation, commissioning and servicing of fire and intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems. You will manage upgrades, provide on-site technical support and ensure documentation aligns with company standards.

This role requires strong customer service, safety compliance and knowledge of major manufacturers, with Gallagher access control preferred. On-site work and a proactive, collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing people and projects within safety and security engineering.
• Technical expertise in fire, intruder, CCTV, access control and AV systems.
• Strong admin skills and familiarity with business systems.
• Commercial awareness for design and pricing of systems and upgrades.
• Customer service oriented with ability to work on site tasks.
• Clear verbal communication and team collaboration.
• Previous employment in BAFE/SSAIB/NSI accredited environments.
• Valid CSCS/ECS card and up-to-date electrical qualifications.
• IPAF/PASMA/Asbestos Awareness certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of major manufacturers; Gallagher Access Control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and service CCTV, alarms, access control and AV systems.
• Perform retrofit upgrades and extensions as part of remedial works.
• Deliver high levels of customer service on site.
• Read site plans and conduct installs based on survey docs.
• Handle reactive calls with aim of first-time fix.
• Provide on-site technical support during reactive and planned visits.
• Complete documentation according to company standards.
• Work within strict H&S guidelines and promote best practices.
• Advise customers on latest products and services to improve efficiency.

Job Description

As Senior Safety & Security Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Install, Commission and Servicing of our wide range of field equipment including Fire and Intruder Alarms systems, CCTV, Access Control, Audio Visual, Public address & Voice Alarm systems
• Retrofit upgrades and extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works packages
• Provide high levels of customer services
• Understanding site plans to allow installs to take part based on site survey documentation
• Reactive call outs to site with an aim to provide a first-time fix
• Provide on-site technical support and solutions to customers during both reactive and planned visits
• Complete documentation in line with company standards
• Work within strict H&S guidelines
• Advise customers on the latest products and services to improve efficiency

Qualifications

For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required.

• Good people management skills
• Technical expertise in predominant skillset area
• Competent admin skills with sound working knowledge of internal business system
• Sound commercial awareness, knowledge of design and pricing of systems and upgrades
• Service oriented, but can interchange on Install related tasks when required
• Good verbal communicator
• Excellent team player and relationship builder
• Previous employment within a BAFE/SSAIB/NSI accredited company
• Valid CSCS/ECS Card
• IPAF/PASMA/Asbestos Awareness certification
• Recent/current electrical qualifications
• Knowledge of industry standard manufacturers preferred (Bosch, Dahau, Hikvision, Gent, Advanced, Gallagher, PAC, Win-Pak, Veracity, Milestone)
• Preference given to candidates with proven Gallagher Access Control skills and knowledge
