An independent engineering & technology consultancy in the UK is seeking a Functional & Process Safety Engineer to support safety-critical projects across energy and industrial sectors. The role requires an engineering degree and over 5 years of experience in safety or process engineering. You'll manage the safety lifecycle and lead various risk assessment studies. Functional & Process Safety Engineer

UK (Flexible) | Permanent

An independent engineering & technology consultancy is looking for a Functional & Process Safety Engineer to support safety-critical projects across energy, low-carbon, and industrial sectors.

What you’ll do :
  • Deliver functional & process safety expertise across the asset lifecycle
  • Manage the functional safety lifecycle (IEC 61508 / 61511) up to SIL 3
  • Lead and support HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, FMEA, FTA and related studies
  • Develop SRS , proof testing, and safety management arrangements
  • Support ALARP demonstrations , ATEX / DSEAR, and risk reduction strategies
  • Act as a technical authority across multiple projects and clients
What we’re looking for :
  • Engineering degree (Chemical, Process, Control / Automation or similar)
  • ~ 5+ years’ experience in safety / process engineering
  • Background in oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or similar industries
  • Consulting experience a plus
