Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Safety Case Consultant to be engaged on a permanent basis in West Cumbria or Warrington.

The Role
  • Lead and deliver nuclear safety cases, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Produce, review and approve high-quality technical documentation to meet strict regulatory standards.
  • Define safety strategies and integrate safety principles into engineering design and operations.
  • Manage projects ranging from short, focused assessments to complex, multi-year programmes.
  • Prepare proposals, support tenders and oversee financial reporting for projects you lead.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and regulators to deliver agreed outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants through technical guidance, review and coaching.
What You’ll Bring
  • A degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Significant experience in nuclear safety case development or assessment.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear plant operations, regulatory frameworks and safety management principles.
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Confidence engaging with clients and regulators.
  • Chartered status with a recognised professional body (desirable).
