Job summary

An Outstanding secondary school in Sutton is seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership across safeguarding and child protection. This role requires prior school-based safeguarding experience and substantial DSL/DDSL work in a secondary setting.

You will work closely with the Headteacher and the senior leadership team, serving as the primary point of contact for students, families, and external professionals.

Qualifications

• Previous school safeguarding experience essential.
• Experience as DSL or DDSL in a secondary environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school's safeguarding provision.
• Manage complex safeguarding cases.
• Oversee referrals and external agency involvement.
• Collaborate with social care and other professionals.
• Provide guidance and training to staff.
• Monitor safeguarding policies and procedures.
