Job summary

Highgate School is seeking an experienced safeguarding leader to join its Senior Leadership Team as Head of Safeguarding (Designated Safeguarding Lead). This full-time role blends safeguarding expertise with strategic leadership across the school community.

The successful candidate will work across Highgate Senior and Junior Schools, lead safeguarding practice, collaborate with external agencies, staff training, policy development and casework, while championing children’s welfare.

Qualifications

• Substantial safeguarding experience in schools or related services.
• Proven ability to lead safeguarding practice and staff training.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding strategy and policy development.
• Oversee designated safeguarding duties and casework.
• Collaborate with external agencies and the Senior Leadership Team.
