Job summary

Arm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focusing on runtimes and architecture in the United Kingdom. You will collaborate with architects and cross-team engineers to advance Arm's language runtime technology, contribute to open-source projects, and document findings.

This hybrid role emphasizes performance tuning, tooling development, and strong low-level systems knowledge. You will work with diverse compiler and runtime teams, helping shape the next generation of Arm architecture features

Qualifications

• Experience with language runtimes or compilers.
• Contribute to open-source projects.
• Strong programming in C/C++ or Rust.
• Low-level development on AArch64.
• Familiar with Linux performance analysis tools.
• Familiar with Linux build systems and CI.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with architects to suggest or improve proposals, as appropriate.
• Own and be accountable for specific investigations, with guidance where appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Arm to improve the Arm architecture, and to ensure it is effectively used.
• Contribute to open-source software projects and engage with open-source communities.
• Contribute to documentation efforts (including internal documentation and external blog posts) to communicate findings.
• Help develop tooling and automation to support the above activities.
