Job summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Senior Rotational Physiotherapist to cover six-month rotations across musculoskeletal outpatients, hydrotherapy, gymnasium rehab, orthopaedic in-patients, orthopaedic oncology and paediatrics. This is a Band 6, Agenda for Change role.

The post requires HCPC registration, a physiotherapy degree, and post-graduate NHS orthopaedic/MSK experience, with duties spanning advanced assessment, evidence-based treatment and MDT

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.
• Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy (BSc or equivalent).
• Post-graduate experience in In-Patient Orthopaedics.
• Post-graduate experience in Musculoskeletal Out-Patients.
• NHS experience as a qualified physiotherapist.
• Experience of respiratory on-call.
• Able to delegate; good communication; shows initiative.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through six-month rotations in out-patients, gymnasium rehab, hydrotherapy, orthopaedic in-patients, oncology and paediatrics.
• Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment and determine diagnoses with evidence-based treatment plans.
• Be professionally and legally accountable for your own work and caseload with limited supervision.
• Communicate effectively to obtain informed consent and liaise with the MDT to maximise rehabilitation potential.
• Deputise for the Team Leader, supervise junior staff, and contribute to service development.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with CSP standards and Trust policies.
