Job summary

GTS Group Ltd in the UK seeks a Principal Rolling Stock Technical Manager to provide specialist engineering expertise and technical leadership from design through to service introduction of a new rolling-stock fleet.

You will review complex designs, translate operational needs into technical specs, and lead workstreams spanning interiors, branding and safety alongside manufacturers, maintainers and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Accomplished rolling-stock professional with strong engineering judgement and senior-level influence.
• Able to challenge technical proposals and balance engineering, operations and passenger needs.
• Experience across design, development, testing and entry-into-service processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and assurance across design, manufacture, testing and introduction of a new rolling-stock fleet.
• Review complex engineering documentation, identify risks and propose solutions.
• Lead workstreams such as interiors, materials, finishes, and customer-experience requirements.
• Develop fleet and maintenance strategies and whole-life cost assessments.
• Apply risk assessment, change-control and Safe by Design principles.
• Influence decisions across multi-stakeholder programmes and stakeholders.
