Job summary

Robotics Design Engineer – Mechanical role in Reading (Hybrid) with a stealth robotics company. You will design, develop, and validate mechanical sub-systems for unmanned underwater platforms, leading integration with sensors and actuators, and supporting field testing and sea trials.

The position requires 8+ years in mechanical design, strong SolidWorks capabilities, and experience in maritime or subsea robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in SolidWorks for modelling, assembly, analysis, and drafting.
• Experience with mechanical design for underwater or marine systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop mechanical solutions to meet milestone deliverables.
• Produce robust technical drawings to BS 8888 standards for in-house assembly and external manufacture.
• Select materials and processes to meet performance and durability goals.
• Lead testing and validation including hardware testing and sea trials.
