Overview

A prestigious life reinsurer is seeking an experienced risk professional to take a senior leadership role within their European business. This is a high-impact position that will represent Risk on regional leadership forums, oversee key regulatory responsibilities, and shape strategic decision-making across Europe and North America. The successful candidate will lead oversight of the risk management framework, ensuring a consistent and forward-looking approach to risk across the business. You’ll be a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, providing objective challenge and strategic insight on major initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead risk oversight on transactions, material projects, and assumption governance.
  • Represent the Risk function on leadership committees, advising senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee monitoring, validation, and analysis of economic capital requirements.
  • Develop and deliver meaningful stress and scenario analysis.
  • Lead delivery of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) or equivalent.
  • Refine and enhance the risk framework, policies, and reporting metrics.
  • Promote a strong risk culture, embedding governance and accountability.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant professional qualification with 7+ years’ industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and economic capital models.
  • Familiarity with actuarial processes, assumptions, and modelling.
  • Solid knowledge of the regulatory environment and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels.
