Job summary

A renowned international law firm in London seeks a Senior Risk Lawyer to lead sanctions compliance within their Risk team. The ideal candidate will have 6 - 10 years of post-qualifying experience, substantial knowledge of sanctions law, and a strong fee earning background. THE FIRM

An international law firm.

THE ROLE

A Senior Risk Lawyer with significant sanctions knowledge, to lead the sanctions work in the Risk team.

This is a legal role, supporting the Risk & Compliance Partner, the Head of Legal Risk, and the General Counsel and COLP.

In this role you will be inter alia:

• Advising on all sanctions related matters affecting the firm
• Ensuring sanctions compliance by the firm and its partners and staff, including identifying any clients and/or matters impacted by new sanctions, assessing the impact of the sanctions,
• Liaising with banks, as well as training fee earners on sanctions

ABOUT YOU

An England & Wales qualified lawyer with 6 - 10pqe, you will have at least three years' sanctions experience in an international firm, ideally as part of an in-house legal team as well as strong fee earning experience.

With a good understanding of how law firms operate, you will have solid knowledge of sanctions law and practice along with financial crime experience

You will be looking to work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
