Job summary

Astute is recruiting an Associate or Associate Director for Risk Management to join its Nuclear Team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on interpreting risk, challenging assumptions and advising senior leaders on risk and change across major programmes.

The successful candidate will lead risk commissions, oversee quantitative risk analyses and develop risk services while mentoring others in a fast-growing, international consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in project, programme or major infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience in quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis (QSRA, QCRA).
• Ability to interpret risk models and challenge assumptions.
• Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders on risk, issues, change and project strategy.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle including distressed projects.
• Strong leadership and people development capabilities.
• Experience across infrastructure, rail, nuclear, healthcare or major construction sectors beneficial.
• Professional qualification such as APM, IRM, PMI or RICS is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and interest in developing new risk services.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk management commissions and interventions for major clients and projects.
• Act as senior adviser for clients on project and organisational risk management.
• Oversee quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis (QSRA/QCRA) across projects.
• Provide senior leaders with clear, practical advice on risk, issues and change.
• Lead risk activities within project controls environments and PMOs.
• Develop and coach risk professionals across the organisation.
• Develop and deliver training and guidance on risk management and related disciplines.
• Contribute to business development and new risk services opportunities.
• Collaborate with sustainability, lifecycle costing and healthcare teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build relationships with clients and international stakeholders.
