Senior Risk Control Surveyor (South West England)

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Risk Control Surveyor, having a focus on Property, Business Interruption, Natural Hazards and Casualty.

Our Loss Control Engineering team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services.

The primary role is to undertake risk control surveys, both remotely and on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Engaging directly with the customer, you will determine if the hazards associated with the trade are adequately managed, negotiate any risk improvements and produce reports within agreed quality and service standards.
• Other activities include collaborating with other business areas, dealing with technical referrals, training and sharing of best practice as appropriate.
• The successful candidate will be provided with a training programme as well as ongoing support to ensure they can thrive and support our customers with technical guidance.

This is a home based role, covering UK South West region.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of insurance, gained from a current or previous role in risk control, along with :

• Sense of commercial judgement and business acumen.
• Organised and articulate with an attention to detail.
• Highly proactive approach to personal development, service delivery and ability to demonstrate positive behaviour.
• The ability to assess risk, the exposure it presents and the application of appropriate loss control measures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Valid and current UK driving licence essential.

Essential Skills

• ACII qualified, other risk management qualification, or continuing progress towards.
• Strong experience working as a Risk Controls Surveyor.
• Able to travel to South West of England.

• NEBOSH Certified however not a requirement.
