Job summary

The Avocado Company, part of Fresca Group, invites applications for a Senior Ripener based in our Ripening Centre of Excellence in Paddock Wood. You will support daily ripening operations, using data and technical knowledge to meet customer quality, quantity and service requirements.

You will manage stock flow, guide Ripeners, mentor the team and ensure safe, compliant operations. The role offers an enthusiastic team, development opportunities and a competitive salary with pension and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in fresh produce, ripening or food production and knowledge of fruit behaviour.
• Able to manage rooms, plan stock, and uphold food safety, hygiene and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise daily ripening activity, stock checks, room movements and tasks.
• Plan and manage rooms to meet customer specs and stock targets.
• Balance shelf life, yield and waste while controlling stock flow and room use.
• Keep audit-ready records for ripening, quality and traceability.
• Mentor ripeners and communicate with Head of Product & Ripening.
