Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior RF/Microwave Design Engineer in Edinburgh to drive the design, development and delivery of leading-edge RF hardware for space and aviation applications. You will work in cross-functional teams on complex telemetry, telecommand and data-link systems, and you will contribute to environmental and qualification testing, documentation, and reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
Proven track record in designing and testing active RF circuits and systems.
Minimum 5 years’ industrial experience in RF/microwave hardware development.
Strong understanding of RF system analysis including RF line-up, link budgets, and noise performance.
Hands-on experience with RF measurements and debugging.
Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Design and develop RF hardware for communication systems from UHF to Ka Band.
Design active RF circuits including LNAs, SSPAs, driver amplifiers, mixers, and frequency synthesizers.
Perform RF architecture trades, link budgets, and dynamic range calculations.
Develop RF schematics, select components, and support PCB layout.
Conduct RF simulations using AWR, ADS, CST, HFSS, and MATLAB.
Perform RF testing and troubleshooting with VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
Support environmental and qualification testing (EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum, vibration).
Produce technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
