Job summary

Plextek is seeking an experienced senior RF electronics engineer to design, build and test RF-based systems and products. You will explain complex technical matters to non-technical customers and work with a team in a state-of-the-art electronics lab.

Qualifications

• MEng in electronic engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years post-graduate experience in RF circuit design for radios/radars.
• Experience developing products from concept through design verification.
• Strong microwave, RF and analogue design and simulation skills.
• Knowledge of OpenCPI, STICS or SOSA standards.
• MM-wave frequency design experience is a plus.

Would you like to work on advanced robotic systems or sensors for autonomous drones? THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced senior RF electronics engineer to join the team, possessing the experience necessary to play a key role in designing, building and testing new RF-based systems and products. In addition to the technical skills necessary, you will be comfortable explaining complex technical matters to non-technical customers.

The role provides the opportunity to work with a team to follow exciting new ideas through from concept into reality. You will have the satisfaction of working with a supportive and experienced team of subject matter experts, in a state-of-the-art electronics lab containing the latest test and measurement equipment (spectrum/network analysis/anechoic chambers).

Key desired skills and experience

• Good MEng in electronic engineering (or similar discipline).
• 6+ years post-graduate experience in designing RF-based circuits (e.g. for radios and/or radars).
• Experience developing products and modules from concept through to successful design verification.
• Good microwave, RF and analogue design and simulation skills. RF amplifier, filter and frequency synthesiser design.
• Experience of relevant open architecture standards such as OpenCPI, STICS or SOSA
• Advantageous but not essential:
• Radio and/or radar systems knowledge
• Team leadership and/or line management experience
• Experience of mm-wave frequency design.
