Job summary

AXA XL in London seeks a Senior Retrocession Specialist for a 12 Month FTC to support system testing, data migration and go-live readiness. The role spans contract setup, data reconciliation, bordereaux processing and stakeholder collaboration across operations, finance and technology.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years in reinsurance, strong Excel skills, and a delivery-focused mindset to manage complex retrocession processes through go-live and stabilization.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ experience in the reinsurance or insurance industry, ideally with ceded reinsurance exposure.
• Robust understanding of reinsurance contracts, treaty structures, bordereaux, settlements and related processes.
• Delivery-focused mindset to drive items to closure in a complex project environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across operations, finance, data, technology and segments.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support system testing and User Acceptance Testing for retrocession processes, ensuring test scenarios are complete and evidenced.
• Validate contract set-up in the new system including treaty attributes, structures and financial terms.
• Perform reconciliations of inbound/outbound data feeds and data warehouse interfaces.
• Support back-loading and reconciliation of legacy contracts, identifying data gaps and remediation actions.
• Test and validate billing processes, bordereaux creation, settlement outputs and cash flow impacts.
• Assist with claims monitoring and ensure data is reflected in the new system.
• Track and escalate open items, defects and reconciliation breaks ahead of go-live.
• Collaborate with Reinsurance, Finance, Data, Technology and project stakeholders to meet milestones.
• Contribute to go-live readiness, operational readiness and post go-live stabilization.
