Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Senior Retina Specialist Practitioner to cover SUJH, Seacroft and Wharfdale. The role involves practising as a retina specialist within Ophthalmology, delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care with an independent caseload.

Suitable candidates may start at Band 6 with progression to Band 7 after training. The post works within the Ophthalmology MDT, collaborating with clinicians and support staff to plan and deliver services.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered ophthalmology practitioner with retina expertise.
• Ability to manage a dedicated retina caseload with independent clinical decision-making.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration within an MDT.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an independent retina caseload within the Ophthalmology service.
• Provide patient-centred, evidence-based care for retinal conditions.
• Collaborate with Advanced Clinical Practitioners, nurses and ophthalmology staff.
• Support service planning and training within Medical Retina.
