A dedicated recruitment group in the UK is looking for a Senior Restorative Justice Practitioner. This role involves delivering restorative justice services and managing interventions within young offender institutions in London. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the criminal justice sector and a commitment to rehabilitation. The position is on-site only and offers 14-28 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years working in the criminal justice sector working within prisons.
  • Experience facilitating mentoring and/or restorative justice interventions.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by adult males in custody.
  • Awareness of emotional wellbeing and mental health needs.
  • A current Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce) on update service & National Security Vetting is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver restorative justice and one-to-one interventions within prison settings.
  • Provide training, supervision and ongoing support to volunteer mentors.
  • Work collaboratively with prison staff, probation services and specialist partners.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure suitability and safety of participants.
  • Manage case allocation, scheduling, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to operational improvements.
  • Collate programme data for evaluation and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain practice in line with national restorative justice guidance and prison policies.

Location: HMPYOI Feltham & HMPYOI Isis (on-site only)
Hours: 14-28 hours per week (occasional evenings/weekends required)
Salary: £22 per hour
Checks: Current Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce) on the update service & National Security Vetting is essential
Contract: 6 weeks possible extension

Are you passionate about reducing harm, supporting rehabilitation and facilitating positive change within the criminal justice system? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Restorative Justice Practitioner to support delivery of impactful interventions across two young offender institutions in London.

About the Role

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering restorative justice services and a structured rehabilitation programme within the prison environment. You will oversee and support a small team of volunteer mentors and project staff, ensuring safe and effective delivery of interventions for young adult men in custody.

You will be responsible for building strong relationships with prison and probation colleagues, increasing programme awareness among stakeholders, and ensuring high standards of practice throughout.
