As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster. Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Senior Resource Coordinator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

What you'll be doing

The role will be part of our People, Comms and Social Impact Team and lead coordination across the team in key areas. This role will lead on key aspects of our people plan for the NZT-NEP Power Project. The People (Resource) Coordinator will lead on our employee onboarding, training & development and inclusion on the project.

  • Onboarding: we require someone to devise and maintain a first class employee onboarding experience and lead a hands-on approach. This will require working closely with our recruitment and HR Business Partnering team to ensure all aspects of internal transfer and new starters are handled effectively. This role will also require close support to the team concerning our resource & mobilisation plans
  • Training & Development: Support our Early Careers community, all staff training programmes and upskilling requirements and support initiatives to promote high performing teams
  • Inclusion: Support our project DEI strategy working closely across our People, Comms and Social Impact team

General and Task Management

  • Coordinate across our People/Resource team to ensure efficient administration across the project for all people related matters
  • Act as our onboarding lead to ensure a first class experience for internal transfers and new starters
  • Support maintenance of our mobilisation people plan and labour across the project
  • Ensure onboarding requirements from admin, vetting and SQEP processes are complied with in a timely manner. Experience of upskilling line managers is essential on core HR admin tasks
  • In conjunction with our operational leads and HR Business Partners coordinate our early careers activity - across onboarding and ongoing engagement of apprentices, graduates and placements
  • Undertake ad-hoc admin tasks to support line managers across all aspects of our people lifecycle
  • Coach and signpost line managers to use our HR Model - from HR Shared Services to our ER Line Manager support team
  • Maintain accurate training records and oversight of training & development programmes on the project
  • Inclusion: work collaboratively to support our DEI strategy and local content reporting
  • Design and develop an induction process for new people and subcontractors joining NZT
  • Take the lead of ensuring new candidates are properly on-boarded to the business
  • Work with the line managers and other support functions throughout the process
  • Administer the personnel approval process ensuring business and commercial compliance with onboarding requirements
  • Manage SQEP process inline with the competence policy to ensure we have the right people with the right competencies
  • Manage the Training and competence matrix to ensure the data is up to date. Work with line manager to ensure training process is followed and any training is booked ahead of expiry dates
Who we're looking for

Experience of mobilisation phases of a project is preferred

The ideal candidate will have a multi-discipline skill-set and be used to tacking on ad-hoc tasks and projects to deliver various initiatives across the lifecycle of the project.
