Qualifications

  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Must be over 21 years old.
  • Must hold a full clean driving licence.
  • Must be able to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working in children's residential care (minimum 1 year desirable).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating daily shift planning and care delivery.
  • Supporting staff and contributing to performance assessments.
  • Promoting safeguarding and maintaining a safe home environment.
  • Encouraging young people to engage in education, social, and community activities.
  • Supporting healthy lifestyles, including meal preparation and personal care.
  • Contributing to reports, plans, and risk assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance with care regulations and health & safety guidelines.
  • Role modelling professional conduct and high standards of care.
  • Attending meetings and training sessions.
  • Transporting young people to appointments, education, and activities.

About the role

As a Senior Residential Care Worker in the Ofsted rating Outstanding home, you'll take a lead role on shift, supporting and mentoring your team while providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people. You will help shape care plans, ensure the smooth daily operation of the home, and play a key role in driving quality and positive outcomes for every child in your care.
