Job summary

Compass is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker in Awsworth for a role that combines care with leadership. You will supervise shifts, support placement plans, and ensure safeguarding practices are followed, while building strong relationships with young people.

The position offers progression into management, with a starting salary of £32,344 plus a £60 per sleep-in allowance, and the chance to earn bonuses for achieving good/outstanding Ofsted outcomes along with long-service awards.

Qualifications

• Must be 22 years of age or older to meet Ofsted regulations.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce.
• At least 2 years of experience within residential childcare and working alongside young people.
• Valid manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Create positive relationships with children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
• Engage with a variety of children and young people, some requiring high levels of supervision and support.
• Lead shifts, supervise staff, oversee policies, risk assessments, rotas, and ensure placement plans are followed and education is supported.
• Ensure the welfare and care of each child, and provide guidance and support to all residential workers.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

What will I do as a Senior Residential Support Worker?

• Using life skills, you will have the opportunity to make a huge difference in children’s lives: you will create positive relationships with them, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
• You will engage with a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
• Within this leadership role you will be responsible for staff supervision, leading shifts, policies, procedures, risk assessments, rotas, and ensuring that placement plans are followed and education is supported.
• You will ensure the welfare and care of each child, and give guidance and support to all residential workers.
