Placements24 seeks a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their exploration and production team based in Randburg. The role focuses on evaluating hydrocarbon potential, optimizing production strategies, and managing reservoir performance across asset lifecycles.

You will apply advanced simulation techniques, data analysis, and economic evaluation to maximize recovery, support strategic decisions, and collaborate with geoscientists and drilling engineers on high‑impact projects.

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
10+ years of reservoir engineering experience in oil and gas.
Expertise in reservoir simulation software and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain dynamic reservoir models with advanced simulators.
Analyze production data, logs, and core data to characterize reservoirs.
Forecast reservoir performance and perform economic field development evaluations.
Recommend development strategies including well placement and EOR.
Collaborate with geoscientists, production, and drilling engineers.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
