Job summary

Warwick invites applications for a Senior Research Technician on a fixed-term contract. The role focuses on immunohistochemistry and lab animal work within the Translational Sleep Medicine Research Lab, based in the Life Sciences Department at the University of Warwick.

The post may be full-time or part-time and includes hybrid working (one day on-site per week after probation). We seek candidates skilled in sectioning brain tissue, immunohistochemistry on free-floating sections, slide mounting,

Qualifications

• Experience with immunohistochemistry and lab animal work is essential.
• Proficiency in brain tissue sectioning and immunohistochemistry on free floating sections.
• Experience with imaging under a microscope and basic data processing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform immunohistochemistry and brain tissue processing.
• Prepare and manage lab consumables and stock.

Full time Salary Range: £31,236.00- £34,610.00per annum

About the group/team

You will join the T ranslational Sleep Medicine Research Lab in the School of Life Sciences at Warwick University.

The lab is based at the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building (IBRB) on Gibbet Hill Campus.

Hybrid Working: Please note that at Life Sciences Department, we offer a hybrid working of 1 day a week after the completion of probation period once you have been trained in the role.

About You

We are looking for someone with expertise in immunohistochemistry and lab animal work, but we also welcome applications from people with an interest in learning these skills. Applicants should be proficient in sectioning brain tissue, performing immunohistochemistry on free floating sections, mounting onto slides and imaging under a microscope. Experience with using script to process data is an advantage. The ideal candidate would also have experience with taking stock, managing and ordering consumables.This position would be suitable for someone interested in gaining valuable lab experience prior to joining a post-graduate position in neuroscience.
