Job summary

Tate is seeking a Senior Research Infrastructure Engineer in Hampshire to drive the design, delivery and improvement of advanced research computing platforms. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership to support researchers, date-intensive projects and collaborations with external partners.

You will be responsible for developing large-scale research computing infrastructure, HPC environments, and enterprise storage, while guiding roadmaps and future platform development.

• Experience in large-scale research computing environments.
• Ability to lead technical workstreams and small teams.
• Proven capability to translate user requirements into scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining large-scale research computing infrastructure
• Supporting HPC environment
• Managing enterprise storage and associated services
• Working closely with researchers to understand requirements and develop effective solutions
• Contributing to infrastructure design, roadmaps and future platform development
• Leading technical workstreams and small project teams when required
• Producing technical documentation, guidance and training materials
• Working collaboratively with internal teams and external technology partners
• Contributing to research and funding initiatives where appropriate
