Job summary

European Tech Recruit seeks a Senior Research Engineer to drive AI and ML research initiatives for semiconductor design and optimisation. The role is 100% onsite, based in London or Cambridge, requiring strong collaboration with researchers and a track record of delivering robust ML systems.

Our client's research team applies AI to the design and optimisation of semiconductors, alongside fundamental research that supports both internal applications and the broader scientific community. Current areas of interest include large language models, optimisation methods for deep learning, reinforcement learning and generative models.

This is a permanent role, working 100% onsite in either London or Cambridge

What you will be doing

• Leading engineering efforts on complex research projects in machine learning and AI
• Optimising algorithms and ensuring the scalability and robustness of research prototypes and systems
• Coordinating closely with researchers to align engineering work with research objectives
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and research staff
• Contributing to technical publications and research documentation
• Maintaining and improving research infrastructure, tools and workflows
• Staying up to date with the latest advancements in AI and engineering best practice

What we are looking for
