PEI is seeking a Senior Private Equity Reporter in London to cover private equity for PEI Private Equity in Europe. You will focus on original reporting, break news, and long-form features, leading select projects and potentially mentoring junior reporters.
You will interview sources, develop relationships with PEI partners, bankers, and readers, and use data to add depth to stories while coordinating with editors and other PEI teams across Europe.
We’re looking for a Senior Private Equity Reporter to join PEI Group’s welcoming, diverse, and growing team based here in London.
The successful candidate will cover the fast-paced world of private equity for PEI Private Equity in Europe. This position is weighted heavily toward original reporting and involves breaking news, writing exclusives, identifying and analysing trends, as well as producing longer-form features, profiles and columns.
The Senior Reporter will aim to produce content that leads with analysis and informed perspective. This will involve collaborating with editors on ideas, sourcing, and story structures with an eye to delivering valuable information that consistently speaks to our core audience of private equity professionals and advisors.
The Senior Reporter will also take the lead on some projects and will demonstrate leadership in other ways as part of a team of reporters, including potentially editing articles and helping to train reporters with less experience.
Other responsibilities will include writing e-newsletters and articles that profile firms and people, identify and analyse trends in PE transactions and other community developments, including key personnel moves. At all times, the goal is to seek out the impact of those developments rather than merely recounting the news.
