Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a Professional Lead in Rehabilitation Engineering to provide professional and clinical leadership across Functional Electrical Stimulation, gait analysis and rehabilitation engineering services. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on clinical practice for patients with complex mobility needs.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure safe, patient-centred services, and shape service development in line with national standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a technology-based degree or equivalent.
• MSc in Clinical Engineering-related subject.
• State Registration as a Clinical Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery, quality and development of clinical technical services while maintaining a substantial personal caseload.
• Provide expert advice on assistive technology, equipment modification and risk management.
• Monitor service demand, waiting lists, resources and performance and plan activity to meet clinical priorities.
• Develop policies, procedures and services in line with national standards and ISO 9001.
• Manage, support and develop healthcare science staff, trainees and apprentices.
