Job summary

Skycare is seeking a Registered General Nurse for a 65-bed care home in Leeds. The role offers 36 hours per week with day shifts and 12-hour shifts, with sponsorship provided. The successful candidate must hold a UK active PIN (NMC) and have 1–2 years UK nursing home experience.

Salary starts at £21.25 per hour and includes paid breaks and UK work eligibility. The facility provides 24/7 nursing and residential care, with a focus on patient dignity, safeguarding, and collaborative care planning

Registered General Nurse and Registered General l Nurse for our Nursing Home an 65-bed facility

Located in the centre of Leeds,our Care Home is a purpose-built, 62-room care home with an excellent outdoor area for residents to enjoy. Staff offer 24/7 nursing care, 24/7 residential care, end of life care, mental health care and physical disability care. Length of stay at this care home includes long‑term stay and respite care, giving residents the attention and support they need for however long is required.

About the Role:
Some of the responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
  • Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
  • Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families / carers.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
  • Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination Framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring as far as reasonable practicable a safe environment.
  • Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
  • Helps to promote and to maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient / relatives and carers.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least Monthly.
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
  • Planning, implementing, and supervising the provision of quality care
  • Maintaining the required medical documentation
  • Upholding residents rights to privacy, dignity and choice
  • Reporting any ill health among the residents and request professional visits when necessary
  • Familiarising yourself with, and strictly adhering to, company policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidelines
  • Abiding by the Nursing and Midwifery Councils (NMCS) code of professional conduct

Please note we are only accepting candidates with a UK active PIN, experience in the UK at least 1-2 years in a Nursing home
