Job summary

Making Space, based in Preston, is seeking a Senior Recovery Worker to deliver recovery‑focussed interventions supporting adults with mental health needs and related disabilities. The role focuses on promoting social inclusion, wellbeing and independence through tailored support within a 5-bed Lancashire service.

You will supervise staff, manage shifts and contribute to continuous improvement while opportunities for on‑the‑job training and professional qualifications are provided to support

Qualifications

  • Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience in mental health setting and supporting people with complex needs, including self-harm.
  • Experience administering medication and leading a shift.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver recovery‑focussed interventions to maximise individual and community assets for social inclusion, recovery, wellbeing and independence.
  • Promote recovery and social inclusion by providing information, guidance and developing opportunities in employment, volunteering, health, leisure, wellbeing and education.

Job description

We have an opportunity available for a Senior Recovery Worker to join the team at our Lancashire Supported Living Rehabilitation Service, Inspiring Minds based in Preston, PR1 7QE.

The service contains 5 beds and will provide intermediate short term rehabilitation support to adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities and individuals on the autistic spectrum and is designed to be a personalised, interactive and collaborative process, reflecting the whole person. It will enable individuals to maximise their potential to live a full and active life within their family, social networks, education/training and the workplace where appropriate, in the context of their mental health and promote recovery.

Salary: £25,298 per annum

Hours: 35 hours weekly working shifts 8am- 3pm and 3pm – 10pm. Some sleep in shifts will also be required working 10pm-8am paid at an additional rate.

You will promote and achieve recovery and social inclusion through offering information, advice and guidance and developing opportunities for service users in areas such as employment, volunteering, health, leisure, wellbeing and education. As well as take on senior tasks & responsibilities as assigned by management to ensure that the service runs effectively day to day.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this.

Previous experience of working within a mental health setting and having the knowledge of understanding and working with people with a variety of complex needs in particular supporting people who self harm is essential for this role.

We are also looking for people who have pervious experience of administering medication and leading a shift.

As Senior Recovery Worker you will supervise staff members and delegate responsibilities ensuring values based support is delivered to the highest standard so previous care experience is essential.
