Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a Senior Recovery Navigator to join the Probation Dependency and Recovery Service. The role involves delivering recovery planning, case management and tailored interventions for men aged 18+ on community orders and post-release licences.

You will maintain strong inter-agency relationships, manage complex cases, and help colleagues through mentoring and observations in a fast-paced setting across Cookson House and surrounding areas in Northumbria.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience within criminal justice and/or drug and alcohol services.
• Experience delivering one-to-one and group interventions.
• Understanding of substance misuse, harm reduction, recovery planning and risk management.
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, CBT, PSIs and ITEP.
• Experience mentoring or developing colleagues.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and Hidden Harm.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload, providing recovery planning and ongoing review.
• Deliver one-to-one and group interventions to support positive behaviour change.
• Build relationships with Probation, Ingeus and partner agencies.
• Assess and manage risk, safeguarding concerns and challenging behaviour.
• Provide mentoring, training and observations for colleagues.
• Support service development, quality improvement and KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records across IT systems and promote harm reduction.
