The Role

You’ll join our client’s senior Frontend / React Engineering team. In this role, you will design and build high-quality, user‑centric web applications that are responsive, scalable, and performant. You’ll collaborate closely with product teams and backend engineers to deliver seamless experiences, improve existing applications, and create brand‑new features. You’ll also mentor junior developers and help shape engineering best practices across the frontend discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with product and backend teams to deliver robust, user-friendly solutions.
• Take ownership of key frontend projects, from design to implementation.
• Translate complex requirements into intuitive, performant UI.
• Ensure applications are accessible, responsive, and visually consistent.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, knowledge‑sharing culture.
• Apply engineering best practices to maintain quality and scalability.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience writing clean, maintainable production‑grade code in React and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, design patterns, and performance optimisation.
• Experience integrating with APIs and backend services.
• Ability to implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for frontend applications.
• Familiarity with state management tools (e.g. Redux, Zustand, or similar).
• Adaptable and eager to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with server-side rendering (Next.js).
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes.
• Experience with modern CSS frameworks and styling approaches (e.g. Tailwind, Styled Components).
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Previous experience in media, publishing, or high‑traffic consumer‑facing platforms.
