Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead Strategy Funding and Appraisal and Rail Advisory projects, shaping business cases, funding strategies and transport appraisals.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to sales opportunities while mentoring junior colleagues. The role offers exposure to high-profile rail projects and the opportunity to influence transport policy and sustainable mobility.

Qualifications

• Strong team player and confident communicator with client credibility
• Excellent presentation, written and numerical skills; ability to manage time effectively and support others
• Strong understanding of appraisal tools such as TUBA, COBALT and AMAT
• Knowledge of rail demand forecasting methodologies including PDFH and MOIRA
• Strong track record in developing business cases across transport modes, especially rail
• Project management experience in a client-facing environment and a degree in a relevant subject
• Chartered Transport Planning professional status would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Proactively support delivery of projects for Strategy Funding and Appraisal and Rail teams
• Manage work packages with focus on client satisfaction and financial targets
• Own delivery of small to medium value proposals and assist larger ones
• Ensure complex technical tasks are delivered on time and within budget
• Mentor junior colleagues and support professional development
• Lead the preparation of business cases and option appraisals with end-to-end development
