Job summary

Groupe CAT in the United Kingdom seeks a Materials and Maintenance Planning Manager to help ensure the rail wagon fleet is maintained safely and in line with plans, UK legislation and industry standards.

You will supervise in-house and external workshops, manage CMMS records, and develop reports to support workload planning and performance improvements across the Technical Services department.

Qualifications

• GCSEs incl. maths and English are required.
• A-level (or equivalent) education is required.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Mechanical engineering background or interest is preferred.
• Strong IT skills and proficiency with common Office software.
• Some supervisory experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance planning with the Technical Services Manager.
• Oversee maintenance by in-house technicians and third-party workshops.
• Record all work accurately in the CMMS (2020M).
• Maintain stock records for wheelsets and ensure data accuracy.
• Produce weekly planning reports and KPI updates.
• Support fleet improvement and digitalisation projects.
