Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Site Manager to lead transportation projects, including rail civils, on the Marks Tey site in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on safety, delivery quality, and cost control while guiding a site team through construction and site logistics.

You will produce and maintain safety plans, manage risk, and drive site performance with a strong emphasis on zero-harm culture and value-for-money outcomes.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card (Supervisor or Managers) required.
• SMSTS certification preferred.
• First Aid at Work certification required.

Responsibilities

• Produce Construction Phase Plans (H&S Plans), Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Task Briefings in line with Murphy procedures.
• Ensure workplaces have effective safety systems and welfare facilities.
• Produce, review and update project-specific execution plans and communicate requirements to all personnel.
• Maintain safe systems of work and record changes in Construction Phase Plans.
• Ensure personnel have required experience, training and knowledge for duties.
• Promote best practice in safety, quality and environment.
• Maintain up-to-date daily diaries and allocation sheets.
• Chair and contribute to weekly site meetings on safety, progress and costs.
• Ensure high quality works meets specifications and manage cost forecasts.
• Establish close working relationships with site supervision for efficient use of labour and plant.
• Promote Murphy Culture Development (Zero Harm).
