Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Senior Radiographer for Mammography on a bank basis at Meriden Hospital in Coventry. The role covers “as and when required” shifts, with up to £30 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Ideal candidates hold HCPC registration, a Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography, and a UK Breast Imaging certificate; they should have radiography experience in acute care and be able to perform IV contrast injections.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Department.

• Perform imaging examinations with radiation doses kept to a minimum while producing high-quality images.
• Uphold radiation safety policies and local rules.
• Comply with IRMER and Radiation Safety Procedures.
• Contribute to supervision, training and peer review within the area of competence.

Senior Radiographer - Mammography (Bank) Meriden Hospital Bank Shifts

Salary: Up to £30.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• You actively participate in the efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Department, providing a consistent, high-quality service to all patients and visitors.
• You carry out general and specialised radiographic procedures within your scope of competence as agreed with the Clinical Services Manager - Imaging / Clinical Lead to high technical and quality standards, assessing patients & interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
• You undertake imaging examinations in line with department operational procedures and policies, using techniques that produce the lowest radiation dose to the patient and staff whilst producing high quality, diagnostic images.
• You practice good radiation, protection and safety and observe Local Rules and Systems of Work.
• You comply with departmental IRMER and Radiation Safety Policies & Procedures.
• You participate in supervision, training and peer review within your area of competence / expertise.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience working within the acute healthcare sector.
• Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers and situations.
• Can undertake I.V. contrast injections.
• A Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registration.
• A general radiographic background / training.
• Must have UK Breast Imaging certificate.
