Job summary

NHS Scotland’s Medical Imaging Department at Ayrshire Central Hospital is seeking a Band 6 Radiographer to deliver high‑quality imaging services. The role is 22.5 hours per week, across 7 days, with two 11.25‑hour shifts from 07:45 to 20:00, and it is offered on a permanent basis.

You will work with radiology colleagues to interpret investigations and ensure NHS Ayrshire & Arran procedures are followed. A driving licence is essential, and an IV injection qualification is desirable for this post.

Qualifications

  • BSc Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration.
  • Driving licence.
  • An IV injection qualification would be desirable for this post.

  • Provide highly skilled and specialised imaging for patients and to make informed decisions on the diagnostic imaging required.
  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Radiographer within our Medical Imaging Department based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.

Hours And Shift Pattern

Hours: 22.5 hours per week required to be worked over 7 days, 2 x 11.25-hour shifts working 0745-2000

What You Will Do

Job Purpose: Provide highly skilled and specialised imaging for patients and to make informed decisions on the diagnostic imaging required. Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient. Ensure that NHS Ayrshire & Arran radiology procedures are implemented and maintained.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

BSc Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent)

HCPC registration

Driving licence

An IV injection qualification would be desirable for this post.

Full UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential to this role.
