Job description

To participate in the roster pattern, weekend working, out of hours and on calls.

Responsibilities
  • The job role requires staff to work between CT and the general Xray department.
  • The successful candidates will be required to work alongside students and assistant practitioners, and a mentor programme to aid student development is available.
  • Participate in the department rota which is primarily duties at Wansbeck Hospital but includes some cover at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital out of hours and on weekends. Additional cover may be required at North Tyneside General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital, Morpeth NHS Centre, Alnwick and Berwick Infirmaries, and Blyth Community Hospital.
  • Carry out all radiographic techniques and examinations to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures.
  • Undertake specialist areas of practice as delegated by the site lead / modality lead.
  • May be required to work in any radiology department with appropriate notice, including community hospitals, and is expected to participate in shifts/rotas to cover a 24/7 service.
  • Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape a collective leadership culture within the trust, engaging, enabling and empowering others, coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement, and facilitating team working and collaboration within and across departments and organisational boundaries.

This is a fulltime post for experienced CT radiographers. With extended hours, Monday to Sunday there are many development opportunities. Northumbria Healthcare is dedicated to providing first‑class care to all its patients.
