Job summary

Edwards Vacuum invites a Senior R&D Development Engineer to join our team in Burgess Hill, UK, blending hands-on laboratory work with theoretical modelling. You will lead the design, analysis, and development of advanced vacuum systems and components, guiding decision-making and ensuring best practices across projects.

Experience in electrical and power control systems, with willingness to broaden into chemical and mechanical processes, is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or applied physics.
• Over 5 years of experience in system design and development.
• Familiarity with hardware prototyping and testing.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain P&IDs and PFDs for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and development of vacuum and abatement systems.
• Conduct testing, verification and validation of complex systems.
• Develop and maintain process diagrams and piping layouts (P&IDs/PFDs).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
