Job summary

Lanes Group plc is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support capability, contract and commercial management within the Wastewater Capital Delivery team. Based in Leyland with hybrid working and travel to sites, you will work closely with Commercial and Operational Leads to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will bring strong NEC ECC contract experience, wastewater or capital delivery knowledge, and proven leadership of a QS team, with a focus on accurate reporting

Qualifications

• Proven commercial and contractual experience within utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure capital projects.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related construction discipline.
• Strong knowledge of NEC ECC contracts (Options A, C & E) and contract management.
• Practical understanding of wastewater projects and capital delivery environments.
• Experience managing Compensation Events, Early Warnings, Applications for Payment, and cash forecasting.
• CEMAR system experience for contract administration and formal communications.
• Strong financial acumen including cost control, forecasting, margin analysis and risk management.
• Excellent communication with operational teams, client representatives and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager with contract and commercial management requirements; guide a developing team to meet deliverables.
• Manage commercial processes: framework setup, compensation events, applications for payment, cashflow forecasting and cost control.
• Oversee NEC ECC contract administration (Options A, C & E) and variations; manage Early Warnings and CEMAR records.
• Monitor WIP, cash forecasting and cost reporting; provide clear commercial analysis for reviews and client discussions.
• Support project teams on cost, risks and opportunities; ensure robust records and governance across contracts.
• Mentor Apprentice/Assistant QS and promote commercial discipline within the team.
