Job summary

Freedom are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major project near Bridgewater. You will manage contractual and financial elements, support P&L, cash flow and working capital across large electrical and civil works, reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager.

You’ll lead the commercial team, manage NEC3/4 and other contracts, and help develop the wider commercial function while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts and practical application.
• Civil engineering and construction experience is desirable.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (lookups and pivot tables).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Freedom and client health and safety standards.
• Provide leadership within the commercial team and wider project teams.
• Manage multiple contracts under NEC3/4, JCT, and bespoke agreements.
• Measurement and valuation of works for applications, variations, and final accounts.
• Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage CVRs.
• Chair monthly project reviews and attend client progress meetings.
• Manage invoicing, debt recovery, and dispute resolution.
• Supply chain management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support development of the wider commercial team.
