Senior Quantity Surveyor - Light Rail - Wednesbury

Salary: up to 70k, 35-hour week, 7500 car allowance.

You will assist in leading and managing the commercial team within your allocated portfolio of multidisciplinary light rail projects, primarily within the Midland Metro Alliance (MMA), from inception to final account and project close-out, to maximize commercial results.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Assisting in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and drawings.
2. Managing the Risk & Opportunities process during tender and construction phases to identify risks and opportunities and ensure contractual solutions and strategies are aligned.
3. Setting and managing budgets, ensuring costs are correctly allocated into the relevant WBS.
4. Establishing and updating project lifecycle cost forecasts monthly, monitoring against targets.
5. Proactively recording all contractual entitlements, ensuring timely notifications, and accurate pricing and substantiation of changes.
6. Maintaining rigorous cost controls, early warning systems, and providing accurate financial data and management reports, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
7. Providing procurement support to deliver projects safely, on time, cost-effectively, and with quality.
8. Validating procurement expenditure with operational teams and ensuring alignment with budgets.
9. Managing contractually agreed cash flows and ensuring timely submission and assessment of AFP's.
10. Ensuring all valid supply chain payments are made in accordance with agreements.
11. Negotiating and resolving contractual disputes and final accounts within DFA levels.
