Job summary

An energy sector recruitment firm in the UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage M&E systems for major projects. You will be responsible for cost estimates, contract administration, and leading junior surveyors. The position offers a competitive salary of £75,000, with a work schedule of 4 days on-site in Manchester and 1 day in the office.

Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E)

Salary: £75,000 plus package
Location: Manchester (4 days on-site, 1 day in-office)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for M&E systems, ensuring projects stay within budget and on schedule.
  • Oversee the administration of M&E contracts, review tenders, manage variations, and ensure compliance with all terms.
  • Provide regular updates on cost performance, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for M&E works.
  • Manage procurement of M&E contractors, suppliers, and materials, and oversee the tendering process for M&E services.
  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, ensuring effective communication and smooth project delivery.
  • Serve as the main contact for financial and contractual matters related to M&E systems, providing regular updates to clients.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in M&E quantity surveying, with a focus on office, hotel, and high-rise projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, contract management, and procurement for M&E systems.
  • Experience managing the full M&E project lifecycle.
  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Ability to work 4 days on-site in Manchester and 1 day in the office.
Package Details:

Competitive salary: £75k+ (based on experience)
Work schedule: 4 days on-site in Manchester (office based at site), 1 day in the office (Based near Wigan)
